The SSMRC grieves the loss of Local 1192 member Jody Chapin

SSMRC is grieving the loss of one of its own, Jody Wayne Chapin, who passed away at age 38 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was a husband, father of three, and long-time member of SSMRC Local 1192.

Chapin, of Vicksburg, Mississippi, passed away April 5, 2020. He began working as a millwright upon graduating from Vicksburg High School. Chapin was an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling. Most of all, he cherished the time he had with his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Don Chapin, his paternal grandparents, Willie and Joyce Chapin, his maternal grandfather, William Hynum, and his Uncle Willie Chapin. Left to keep his memory alive are his wife, Angela, and four children, Alyssa, Gavin, Annalise, and Ethan along with his mother, Tammy Chapin, his sister, Christie (Chris) Irons, his nieces Heather and Kimberly Irons, his maternal grandmother, Carolyn Hynum, his in-laws, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, and countless friends and union brothers. Chapin’s family would like to thank all of our family and friends for your love and support. Every message, phone call, and gift is greatly appreciated. We ask for continued prayers as we learn to live life without this amazing man whom we love so dearly.
